Centered around Yamanaka Onsen - the stage for the Kaga Spa Endurance 100 by UTMB - the Kaga City consists of three distinct hot spring towns. Each has its own charm, surrounded by rich nature, seasonal flavors, and deep-rooted traditions. This region has long inspired poets and travelers alike—come and experience its timeless warmth and beauty.

Yamanaka Onsen

Said to have been discovered over 1,300 years ago by the monk Gyoki, Yamanaka Onsen was also praised by the poet Matsuo Basho. The scenic Kakusenkei Gorge offers beautiful views in every season, with landmarks such as Korogi Bridge and Ayatori Bridge. Along Yuge Kaido Street, visitors can enjoy galleries of Yamanaka lacquerware and Kutani porcelain, cozy cafés, and local shops that reflect the town’s warm, traditional charm.

Yamashiro Onsen

With a history of about 1,300 years, Yamashiro Onsen is said to have been discovered by the mythical three-legged crow, Yatagarasu. The town preserves traditional onsen culture, centered around its public baths - So'yu and the restored Ko-So'yu, featuring Kutani tiles and lacquered woodwork. Here, visitors can soak in history as well as healing waters.

Katayamazu Onsen

Situated on the shores of Lake Shibayama, with stunning views of Mount Hakusan, Katayamazu Onsen is known for its ever-changing lake colors. Its modern public bath offers two experiences: Kata no Yu, where you feel as if bathing in the lake itself, and Mori no Yu, surrounded by soothing greenery. Both promise a moment of pure relaxation.
